About ASC

On November 9, 2004, American Pro Strongman's rebirth was completed. IFSA, the world governing body for professional strongman, selected long-time strongman competitor and promoter Dione Wessels as the representative for its interests in the United States.

The American Strongman Corporation (ASC), created and named by Wessels, is the governing body of pro strongman in the United States.
ASC is based in St. Louis, Missouri and overseas annual events such as the Arnold Classic and the U.S. National Qualifiers and National Championship known as America’s Strongest Man.

ASC is the sole sanctioning body for professional strongmen in the United States and has certified such great events as The Snowman Challenge, The Fit Expo Strongman Challenge, The Kansas City Pro-Am, Hawaii's Strongest Man, Mountaineer Strongman Championship, Utah's Strongest Man and the Strongest Man on Grand competition, and America’s Strongest Man which has ran each year consecutively since 2004.

Dione Wessels

President

Dione Wessels is the USA National Federation representative. She has been involved in organizing and promoting strongman events for over 6 years. Dione also co-owns the Amateur Federation in America known as the North American Strongman Inc. Prior to her involvement in Strongman, Dione has held numerous records in Powerlifting and other strength and endurance sports. In 2003, Dione won the national championship in the USA NAS National Strongwoman competition.

Dione holds several degrees, which includes accounting, nursing, education, and a graduate degree in adolescent counseling. Mike Johnston

Vice President of marketing and athlete development

Mike Johnston has been involved with NAS for 5 years and ASC since its inception. Mike has served as ASC Marketing Director, NAS state chairman, promoter, and athlete. He has fund raising experience with non-profit organizations having served on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics and currently serves as President of SC Strength Promotions, a non-profit organization. Melany Myers

Media Relations Director

Melany Myers is a radio personality in a top 25 market. She has been in radio for 10 years and has served as promotions director and marketing assistant. She holds a degree in English and a double minor in Communications; public relations and mass media.
